Event Description

The Boston Society of Architects (BSA) is pleased to announce that the 2011 BSA Design Awards will be presented on January 26, 2012 at a gala dinner at the Copley Marriott Hotel in Boston. This formal event will bring together hundreds of architects, contractors, engineers, owners and other professionals to celebrate the best of New England’s design and construction industry.
To support the Design Awards Gala and its winners, the BSA is partnering with two of Boston Globe Media’s leading outlets, the award-winning magazine Design New England and the region’s major online destination, Boston.com. They will work together with the BSA’s flagship magazine, ArchitectureBoston, to provide a full range of promotion and coverage of the 2011 BSA Design Awards.
“The Design Awards Gala is a great way to honor firms and individuals whose work has been recognized by their peers,” said Margaret Wigglesworth, BSA executive director. “We also want to extend awareness beyond our own industry, because promoting the value of architecture and architects lies at the heart of the BSA’s mission. We welcome Design New England and Boston.com as media sponsors, and believe that this new partnership will allow us to carry the message about the importance of excellent design to a broader audience than ever before.”
“We are honored to put the resources of Design New England and Boston.com behind this effort. There is a strong brand alignment between the BSA and Design New England, and this will create a valuable synergy to enhance the impact of the event,” said Design New England publisher Stephen D. Twombly. “We’ll even be offering an exciting People’s Choice webpage on Boston.com, where homeowners and professionals can weigh in with their award choices.”
The BSA is committed to professional development of its members, advocacy on behalf of great design and sharing an appreciation for the built environment with the public at large. Established in 1867, the BSA today consists of more than 3,500 members and produces a diverse array of programs and publications, including tradeshow and conference Build Boston and ArchitectureBoston magazine.
