The UNITE @Continuum video is here!

In keeping with Design Museum Boston tradition we've cut together a little highlight video from our last event. UNITE @Continuum was a big hit with hundreds of people coming to connect and check out our new brand identity which we're happy to say was very well received. We can't thank Continuum enough for opening their doors to our guests and for helping us design our new look. …

Small Things Matter

A couple of weeks ago, I was riding up with a friend from Ohio to Philadelphia. I’m from the New England area, and as far as I know, we don’t really have anything quite like these things, but Pennsylvania is crawling with these mega convenient stores on the side of the road. Basically they are these gas station/convenient store/fast food restaurants all in one, all under the same name, "Sheetz."…

No Right Brain Left Behind.

The lack of focus on creative problem solving in our K-12 education is alarming. Talk about long-term competitiveness, it's not enough to teach our kids science, math, english and history; we need to structure situations where they must apply that knowledge towards innovative solutions to real (or even imaginary)…

MacWorld 2011

Well it’s been about 4 years since my last Macworld but I had no idea this show would be so beat.  At about 1/8 the size and without any major apple vendors I would have to say Macworld is officailly history.

For what its worth there were a few highlights but nothing that was not already shown at CES. My Fav’s were the Sennheiser headsets, Monster Tron edition products, this cool ipad joystick and the Luna Tik ipod watch. Check out our other photos …

Shanghai's Lucky, Red-Bookstore

Happy Chinese New Year! And there couldn't be a more fitting way to be greeted into the year of the rabbit than with the Red Bookstore. Red Bookstore plays an important role in the Shanghai design community and design education. Gavin Chang (张尊祥) started Red Bookstore in Shanghai's Sculpture Space artist community over four years ago.  With his help, Shanghai is…

Getting the world involved...

I tell most people that I am an Industrial Design major, and I usually get the "oh... so that's like, buildings right?" response, or the smile-and-nodder who tries to pretend they know what it is... that's always funny. Every once in a while there is that one person who knows what I am talking about. If the conversation continues I go on to give as…
