Back form another year at CES…
This years show drew record attendance with over 153,000 people showing up to peep the technologies of tomorrow. Similar to years past there’s lots to look at but nothing you haven’t already seen online. Most of the real innovation & ground-breaking product lies behind closed doors at the show or in VIP Suites along the strip.

This year Boston will be holding the Industrial Design Society of Ameria’s National Conference. The Event will take place August 15-18th at the Westin Boston Seaport Located next to the World Trade Center in Boston’s Innovation District.

Last Thursday Night 25 representatives from many of Boston’s top design firms and design-minded corporations gathered at Manta’s New office in Kendall Square to begin the process of designing the 2012 IDSA National Design Conference and offsite. Last week Sprout Studios was lucky enough to have registered for the inaugural lecture for CreativeMornings Boston. CreativeMornings is a monthly breakfast lecture series for creatives and entrepreneurs. Each event is free and includes a 20 minute talk plus coffee! Its roots are in NYC and with the addition of Boston it’s now in 17 cities worldwide.

Checked out Johnny Earle tonight at BU for the Johnny Cupcakes Lecture Series. Johnny told the audience the story of how he turned a simple joke into a multi-million dollar business using nontraditional methods.

Well it’s been about 4 years since my last Macworld but I had no idea this show would be so beat. At about 1/8 the size and without any major apple vendors I would have to say Macworld is officailly history.
For what its worth there were a few highlights but nothing that was not already shown at CES. My Fav’s were the Sennheiser headsets, Monster Tron edition products, this cool ipad joystick and the Luna Tik ipod watch. Check out our other photos …

I just got back from the 2010 IDSA National Conference in Portland, Oregon. The conference itself was marginal at best but the offsite events at local offices and the city of Portland really made it a worthwhile and inspiring trip.

Just got back from NYC Design week and ICFF. Maybe it was the weather but there was great vibe through out the city and show. The ICFF had a lot of fresh work from students, start ups and there was a huge german design section showcasing everything from cars to sex toys.
