Italian design magazine, Abitare, has been playing a bit of a design museum game if you will: from their site: Following the idea of Enzo Mari, Abitare with each new issue will publish five works of design, which will be chosen by a series of well known personalities from the world of design. After the first selection, each juror, besides indicating his or her five products, will confirm – or not – the other objects, which were proposed by the previous juror.

Very cool curatorial idea! I encourage you to read the original post from Enzo Mari concerning design museums. It's a bit wordy, but got me thinking.

Check out where the collection stands now. It includes the Fender Telecaster electric guitar (1950) chosen by Konstantin Grcic, the Vespa 98 (1946) and the Eames Elephant (1945) both chosen by Michele De Lucchi.

Oddly missing: design artifacts beyond object design, but an amazing collection nonetheless. I'd pay to see it all in one gallery.
