Design Museum Boston & Continuum Win at The Ad Club NON-Event

In a society more interested in what a celebrity has eaten for breakfast than the often unglamorous lives of those in the non-profit sector, recognition for excellence is usually scare. Luckily, that isn't the case here in Boston, where a rich culture of non-profit organizations is thriving. Combine that with a multitude of talent from design and advertising agencies and you have some serious magic.

The magic was in the air last week at The Ad Club's first NON-Event award ceremony, where non-profits and their agency partners were recognized for their outstanding work. If there was any question of whether the attendees were excited to be up for consideration, the buzz that filled the air at the Microsoft NERD Center was surely an appropriate answer.

The night started with remarks from Ryan Ansin, Founder and Executive Director of Every Person Has a Story. His inspiring non-profit is dedicated to bringing voice to underserved or overlooked groups through photography and creating cross-cultural communities by sharing vision and imagery from our own individual worlds.

With 26 winners in 13 categories, the night was filled with amazing work; included in this exemplary list was Design Museum Boston's collaboration with Continuum. Sam Aquillano, Co-Founder and Director, and the Continuum team were on hand to accept the award for Best Brand Identity System.

Here are some of the other winners, featured in today's copy of the Boston Globe (if you missed it!)
This is a great accomplishment for Design Museum Boston and Continuum, and of course, all those that assisted in the great "open" branding experiment back in 2010. It proves that creativity, collaboration, and maybe a little magic, can inspire some truly fantastic results.
