Design Museum Boston STUDIO @ WIT returns to create an exhibit for this years IDSA conference in Boston, MA. Sam and Derek kicked off the project by introducing the team to some of the Award Winners that will be featured for the IDEA (International Design Excellence Award). The team has begun the 15-week project of creating an exhibit to showcase the Gold and Silver medal winners for the Award. Today the team brainstormed possible themes for the exhibit. The brainstorm began by with short presentation from Nick Dunleavy and Joe Bradford about how they attacked last years task of creating the “RETAIL” exhibit for the Prudential Center. We are all very eager to see the progress that is to come in the following weeks and the project develops.
The students familiarized themselves with this year’s IDSA winners by displaying short presentations on a specific award winner. The class was eager to learn about the gold award winners for this years prestigious IDSA awards, and is ecstatic to be in charge of the presentation of the exhibit. The students worked with the professors to brainstorm possible outcomes for the exhibit and currently they are furthering each potential topic for consideration on Monday morning.
Looking ahead, the students will be working as a team, comprised of smaller teams and workflows to tackle the tasks at hand. Over the course of the next 15 weeks, we will create a unique exhibit for the public to help people learn about IDSA, its winners, and the design process itself. We ourselves as students will learn a lot in the mean time as we strive to design a great experience for Design Museum Boston and the IDSA.
Stay tuned for more weekly updates on the studio's progress.
