Designing a museum is the ultimate design project. On this site we’ll gather as a community to shape the future of this institution: what it looks like, what goes inside and what programs we offer. This site will serve to unite the design community and the community at large; as well as document our collective design process. Our doors and minds will always be open. We hope you’ll join us in making this a worthwhile endeavor that will benefit us all. Thank you in advance for sharing your ideas and time.

Congratulations on kicking off this fantastic effort. You guys (the entire board) are the perfect team to make this successful. I admire your drive, energy and passion!

To get a conversation started below are a few considerations for Design Museum Boston:

1. Contain a historical time lone (local and our role in the overall profession). You may need to define what segments of the design industry that the museum will focus around. Product, Graphic, architecture, fashion etc.
2. Design profession references (names and links for all related design industries)
3. Current and upcoming events
4. Permanent collection of design (both successes and failures)
5. Traveling collection that can go for educational and general public viewing
6. Latest and greatest design releases from the local design industries
7. Lectures and sponsored community events.
